Academic Manager Job Description
Asia Pacific College (APC) is seeking an Academic Manager to oversee all phases of academic, teacher management and staff training with an eye toward continually improving the student experience.
In this role you will also teach, train, evaluate, mentor and coach our teachers to ensure academic excellence according to APC standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage teacher recruiting, interviewing, training, scheduling, and observing.
- Mentor and coach new teachers.
- Create programs and initiatives that improve course quality and enhance the overall student experience.
- Hire, train and supervise Academic Coordinators and Teacher-Trainers.
- Observe and complete written evaluations on all teachers.
- Present at local marketing events to promote Asia Pacific College educational programs.
- Schedule, develop, and coordinate teacher-training summits in conjunction with the regional Academic Director.
- Manage the creation and delivery of course schedules.
- Manage the assimilation of new course materials into curriculum, as well as the dissemination of information about course updates.
- Create and implement staff training sessions in conjunction with other mangers.
- Liaise with national product development team; write, edit, and proofread new course materials.
- Participate in conference calls with System Management Officials.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in education or business
- Minimum 2 years management experience in education or business setting; curriculum development experience a plus
- 3 – 5 years teaching experience
- Leadership, management and team motivation skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Strong problem solving, decision-making, and creative thinking abilities
- Passion for customer service and business growth
- Ability to travel locally and work occasionally during evenings and weekends
