OB SUMMARY:
The part time adjunct ESL Instructor teaches a week orientation in August for incoming international students, and at least two credit-bearing ESL courses in the Fall semester.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Teach classes in grammar, writing, reading, speaking, pronunciation and listening.
2. Plan, prepare and deliver lessons and workshops for groups and individuals.
3. Design and produce teaching materials and adapting existing materials.
4. Carry out assessments of students’ needs.
5. Participate in Saturday day trips to area attractions during the August orientation.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
* A Master’s degree in TESOL or related field and/or minimum three years experience teaching ESL on a college campus.
* Demonstrated ability to work with students at varying levels of language proficiency.
* An understanding of and respect for other cultures with a sincere interest in working with and responding to the needs of an international population.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet applications and database software.
