Managing Editor – ELT (English Language Teaching)

Do you enjoy managing projects from concept development to finished product? Are you interested in joining a creative and collaborative editorial team? Are you looking for a job that requires leadership and problem solving skills? Oxford University Press is looking for a Managing Editor to join its prestigious English Language Teaching division. The Managing Editor will work closely with the publishing manager, author teams, and development and production to conceptualize and develop product. The Managing Editor will be responsible for the day-to-day decision making and management of multiple key titles and their components (print and non print) to ensure that projects are published on schedule and within budget. The Managing Editor also will take an active role in market research, development, budgeting, forecasting, planning and resourcing of projects. Successful candidates will possess strong organizational, communication and leadership skills and have a solid grounding in content editing; they will also show themselves to be effective and creative project managers, as well as able multi-taskers. Applicants must have a Bachelors degree or greater. Should have 5 + years publishing experience, preferably in ESL. Experience in publishing or teaching ESL/EFL is preferred but not required. Experience in publishing non print materials is also desirable.
