Bethune-Cookman University invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant
Professor of Elementary Education/Coordinator of ESOL. The expectations include coordination of activities related to ESOL and program approval, teaching, scholarly activity, and participation in departmental and university service activities.

DUTIES: Responsibilities include providing leadership in developing, teaching, and maintaining curriculum in undergraduate programs as it relates to Elementary Education and ESOL. The selected individual will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of program approval as it relates to ESOL in the School of Education. This includes, but is not limited to, faculty development activities and to in, collaboration with the Coordinator of the Teacher Education Institute, identify appropriate placements for students to ensure appropriate experiences working with linguistically diverse students. In addition, the individual will supervise students in clinical settings, advise students, engage in committee responsibilities, conduct research, and demonstrate commitment to serving a diverse student body and profession. The candidate will work closely with professional partnerships and professional development schools. Involvement in recruitment and retention activities are also expected as well as participation in departmental and university service activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A terminal degree in ESL or Applied Linguistics and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education; or a terminal degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in ESL or Applied Linguistics
