Manor Courses is a family-run, residential summer school that has been in operation since 1970. We will run a 6 week programme for international students between 7th July – 18th August 2009 and are looking for EFL teachers to become part of our unique team.
We have 360 young learners (aged 12-17) from all around the world coming to us in 2009. We have a further 30 Junior Students (aged 6-11) who enrol onto our specialised Junior Programme and we are actively looking for EFL teachers for both age groups.

We run a 3 day induction programme before the course starts (from 4th – 6th July 2009) to help orientate new staff and equip them with all the knowledge and support needed to work with us.

EFL Teacher job roles include:

*18 hrs teaching per week (5 mornings of teaching 2 x 90min lessons; 3 evenings of 1 hour)
*Weekly placement testing of new students
*Weekly Lesson Planning & Professional Development Sessions
*Assisting with Evening Activity Programme
*Leading Groups on Weekly Excursions to London, Cambridge, Oxford & Brighton
*Residential Duty in Houses – including wake-up & evening registration duties
*Orientation with students on a weekly basis
*Assisting with student arrivals & departures

Qualifications:
We are looking for enthusiastic, dymanic, creative EFL teachers who want to work with young people and are prepared to go that extra mile to ensure our students get the most out of their time at Manor Courses.

As a British Council accredited school we look to employ teachers who are Trinity TESOL/Cambridge CELTA qualified, or hold a similar certificate in EFL teaching. These certifications must include 100 hours of input and at least 6 hours supervised teaching practice.

We are also happy to consider applicants who hold a PGCE.

We accept applications from teachers with various levels of experience. We have a good base of returning staff, bank of resources and training sessions available to newly qualified teachers to help them gain experience in a first job.

EFL teachers will have either a UK passport, or be from a country that has English as a native langauge with a visa to work in the UK.

Due to the age of our students, candidates must be willing to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check – paid for by Manor Courses.

Compensation:
As our programme is residential we provide all staff with:
*Full accommodation and 3 meals per day (including use of laundry facilities & WiFi etc)
*Use of college facilities (e.g. gym/swimming pool/squash courts etc)

In addition we also offer:
*Weekly staff social events
*Weekly professional development sessions
*Health & Safety/Child Protection training
*Criminal Record Check (CRB) certificate paid for by Manor Courses

Remuneration (including full board):
£264.14 per week for 6 weeks (£1584.84)
£89.80 for 3 day induction course
TOTAL: £1674.64

Days-off/Holiday:
7 days-off (24hr rest periods) during contract period (4 July – 18 Aug 2009)
