A well-known, respected American language school with 37 years experience has a unique opportunity for an experienced Academic Director for a minimum one-year commitment in Istanbul, Turkey.

The ideal candidate will be a native English speaker, have at least 2 years’ experience as an Academic Director or Director of Studies, excellent managerial skills and the ability to work under a variety of circumstances in a dynamic environment. Must be self-motivated and accountable to management in New York.

Preferably the candidate will already have residence in Turkey but we will also consider candidates willing to relocate.

Duties include the delivery of high quality English language courses by:

-Hiring and training teachers

-Testing and placing students

-Scheduling of classes (open and close classes and timeslots depending on demand)

-Teaching a variety of General English levels as needed

-Adhering to established curricula and using prescribed text books

-Resource, recommend and establish new teaching and learning materials based on market demands and school methodology as well as suggesting and creating new programs

-Managing classes, students’ progress and feedback

-Conducting teacher observations and professional development sessions

-Submitting payroll and monitoring other program related expenses
