US-based language services company is seeking an experienced instructor of English as a foreign language (EFL) for a one-year US government contract next to Abu Dhabi, UAE.  The project might be extended for an additional 1-3 years.  The position is available immediately, and involves teaching adult students based on existing curriculum.

The successful candidate must be at a native level English proficiency or equivalent.  A degree in ESL, Bilingual-Bicultural Education, ESOL, Linguistics, English, Speech, Foreign Languages, Education, or a related specialty area and at least one year of experience teaching EFL to adults is desired. Experience with American English is preferred.

US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.  Must be eligible for UAE residency.

Instructor duties will typically include the following:

• Develop weekly lesson plans
• Conduct classes while maintaining a student centered classroom
• Administer periodic curriculum based skills assessment and testing (oral and written)
• Conduct laboratory sessions (computer/multimedia)
• Maintain student performance, attendance and academic records on a daily/weekly basis
• Conduct student counseling session
• Participate, when directed, in course material development
• Participate in additional projects as needed.

Qualifications

Native level English proficiency or equivalent

Prior adult education experience is preferred

Well organized and able to deliver lesson plan clearly

Maintain professional appearance, demeanor, and working environment

Adhere to all worksite rules and regulations

Housing, transportation and travel/to from the UAE will be provided.
