Senior Teacher for the UAE • Abu Dhabi University

The Institute for Continuing Studies at Abu Dhabi University (ADU) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is looking for an experienced senior teacher to lead on a new and innovative project involving training a group of security personnel through a year long ESP programme.

We are looking for an individual with the right combination of skills to:

• Manage a team of up to 10 teachers on a year long programme
• Lead on observations and feedback to the team
• To lead on the development on In Service Teacher Training sessions for the team.
• Work as part of a team to continue to develop the core syllabus, schemes of work, assessments and lesson plans for the course
• To lead on the development of the self access component of the English course
• To plan, prepare and deliver up to 12 hours of teacher training sessions, and/or English language classes per week
• To liaise with project managers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and that student needs are fully met and attend/organise regular team meetings
• To assist with the recruitment of new staff
• Previous experience with police, security or military would be a plus

We are looking for a highly motivated leader who is capable of setting and achieving targets and goals for himself/herself. You will be looking to develop a career in ELT management, experienced in using technology and have a background in course design and assessment. You will also be able to demonstrate experience in teacher training.

Criteria
We are looking for individuals who can meet the following criteria.

1) Native English speaker with at least 5 years of full time English teaching experience
2) A COMPLETED Bachelors degree (not necessarily in English).
3) A University of Cambridge (UCLES) DELTA qualification at pass level or above
4) Experience of teacher training and course/assessment design

The successful candidate will be based in Abu Dhabi but will be working a 45 minute journey from the city in a purpose built training facility.

Package
USD$4000 equivalent paid in dirham each month (tax free) + return airfare from home city + free accommodation + free medical cover.
