British Council Singapore are looking for highly-motivated and experienced English Teachers, particularly with experience of teaching Young Learners, to join our professional team. Preferred qualifications: Degree-holder, CELTA, Trinity Cert. TESOL or equivalent TEFL qualification.
Teaching experience: 2 years minimum

Highly proficient speaker of English who is familiar with contemporary UK.

- First degree

- A TEFL Diploma (DELTA or equivalent) for a full-time contract, a TEFL certificate (CELTA or equivalent) for part-time contracts.

- 2 years relevant teaching experience, particularly at primary/secondary level.

*Full-Time Contract*:

Salary:
On a 10 point scale ranging from S$5306 per month to S$7287 per month.

This applies to non permanent residents and non Singaporean citizens. Starting point on scale is according to qualifications and experience. A pension contribution has already been factored into the above salary. S$2.09 = 1 pound @ 7/01/09.

Fares and travel:
Economy class flight for member of staff, accompanying partner and children from previous post or London paid by British Council Singapore. Economy class returns to London for the member of staff, accompanying partner and children every 2 years.

Baggage allowance:
Accountable allowance of 1,200 pounds for single staff; 2,000 for staff with accompanying partner and/or children per transfer paid by British Council Singapore.

Annual leave allowance:
35 days leave allowance per year.

Medical allowance:
Contract staff and their non-working dependants are covered by the British Council BUPA medical plan.

*Part-Time Contract*:

Salary:
Salaries for 18 guaranteed hours range from S$3,979 to $4,473 per month. This applies to non Singapore citizens/PR’s.

Medical insurance:
We provide cover from the Council’s global medical insurance provider, Bupa, based in London.

Fares and travel:
Reimbursement of 50% of a return economy class airfare from home base to Singapore. If a single airfare is purchased, the reimbursement will be based on 50% of the quoted return airfare for the same route.

Settling-in Allownce:
14 days hotel accommodation.
