Job Title: English Language Instructor

Job Location: Saudi Arabia

Overview: Abacus Technology is in need of an English Language Instructor to instruct English as a foreign language classes at varying levels in support of the Royal Saudi Air Force. Special transportation, housing, travel, and incentive awards are available.

Major Duties & Responsibilities: Provides English instruction to elementary, intermediate, and advanced students using accepted methods approaches, and techniques. Prepares and uses lesson plans. Completes and submits training reports. Inventories classroom materials and prepares requests for these materials. Conducts language drills and exercises. Teaches grammatical structures, spelling, and punctuation. Develops, approves, validates, and uses primary and supplementary materials including student handouts, vocabulary exercises, spelling quizzes, grammar and sentence structure exercises. Uses available audio-visual teaching aids and language laboratory console. Administers phase and progress tests and analyzes results. Develops tests for sound discrimination, vocabulary, reading, grammar and diagnostic purposes. Maintains classroom tidiness and maintains order and class control. Reports safety violations and hazards. Creates learning environment where only English is spoken. Monitors and records students’ attendance and discipline and provides counseling. Evaluates academic performance of students and provides counseling when necessary. Reviews student progress evaluations and recommends action. Reviews and recommends approval of acceptable educational training materials, periodicals and other documents for classroom use. Prepares ELT Student End of Course Reports.

Qualifications: 3-5 years experience teaching English as a foreign language. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Knowledge of accepted methods, approaches and techniques for teaching reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English. Ability to teach at the elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels.
