Teaching English at a public university in Teotitlan de Flores Magon, northern Oaxaca, Mexico
May 9th, 2008 | Mexico
Description: A new university in an unspoiled part of northern Oaxaca seeks a qualified, fulltime EFL teacher to teach Basic English beginning May 2008. Initially two 6 month contracts.   Excellent pay (for Mexico) and benefits are provided and you will find opportunities to contribute to the development of the new English Department with your own initiatives and energy.  Â
Highlights: The Universidad de la Cañada is located next to Teotitlan, a town of about 10,000 people in the northeast of the state of Oaxaca, in southern Mexico. It is a center for commerce for the surrounding countryside. It is between Mexico City, six hours (by bus) to the northwest, Tehuacan, also to the northwest and Oaxaca City, three hours to the southwest. Though few tourists visit Teotitlan, the community is open to visitors from other countries. UNCA is a new university in the process of being established. This is the second year of this Statal University. We are currently offering ten-semester degree courses. UNCA is one of seven Statal universities in the state of Oaxaca. There are currently about 70 students registered from this area of the state of Oaxaca. This is an exciting time in our development. At this stage UNCA offers majors in four areas: computer science, food engineering, pharmacobiology engeineering and agricultural engineering.
