The Universidad de la CaƱada is located next to Teotitlan, a town of about 10,000 people in the northeast of the state of Oaxaca, in southern Mexico. It is a center for commerce for the surrounding countryside. It is between Mexico City, six hours (by bus) to the northwest, Tehuacan, also to the northwest and Oaxaca City, three hours to the southwest. Though few tourists visit Teotitlan, the community is open to visitors from other countries. UNCA is a new university in the process of being established. This is the fourth year of this University. We are currently offering ten-semester degree courses. UNCA is one of seven Technological universities in the state of Oaxaca. This is an exciting time in our development. At this stage UNCA offers majors in four areas: computer science, food engineering, pharmacobiology engineering and agricultural engineering.
