Lead English Language Teacher (M/F)

Currently we are recruiting a Lead English Language Teacher in Kosovo and southern Serbia

The International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) is a private educational institute for students in the Mitrovica region and beyond. The IBCM offers programmes in Business, Public Administration and Agricultural Business, taught by international teachers. Students can obtain a diploma or degree that is issued by an EU partner institute. To prepare students for enrollment in education taught in English, IBCM runs the Transitional Year Programme (TYP) throughout the Mitrovica region.

We are now seeking a full-time (40 hrs a week) Lead English Language Teacher to teach in the TYP. The post holder is responsible for helping prospective students to meet the requirement of entering tertiary English language education in October 2010. Furthermore, the English Language Teacher will be engaged with the organisational side of the implementation of the programme and in curriculum development.

Principle Duties

• Develop and guide TYP curriculum;
• Teaching classes in order to improve English level of students from Pre-Intermediate to enable them to obtain the equivalent score of 5.0 IELTS;
• Monitor TYP students performance;
• Support TYP entrance procedure;
• Responsible for course administration;
• Encourage students to develop skill areas such as writing;
• Mediate between teaching staff and programme coordinators;
• Cooperate in promotion of IBCM

Requirements & assets:

• Good communication and social skills;
• Good team worker while able to work independently;
• Recognized English Language Teacher Qualification – TEFL, CELTA, TESOL (or recognized equivalent);
• Full time available for up to six months;
• Native speakers only;
• Willingness to live in Kosovo and flexible working attitude;
• Immediate start (26th March)
