TENURE-TRACK FACULTY (FOREIGNER) POSITION:
English Department, College of International Studies, Korea Maritime University

PREFERRED FIELDS: TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Theoretical Linguistics, English Literature; other English related fields will be considered.

CLOSING DATE: Screening of applications will begin September 1, 2009, and continue until the position is filled.

DESCRIPTION: Korea Maritime University invites applications for tenure- track appointment to begin March, 2010. We seek faculty candidates with primary research interests in TESOL. The successful candidate will serve as the core faculty conducting research and teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in the department of English language and literature.
The normal teaching load is 9 credits per semester. Additional duties will vary depending on university and academic unit education needs, such as advising and mentoring students and serving on departmental and institutional committees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* A completed Ph.D. by the time of appointment OR over two years of teaching experience as a full time faculty member at a university of English speaking countries.
* Strong English oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Classroom teaching experience
* Experience with the process of obtaining external support
* Strong commitment to teaching excellence, professional development, and scholarly research * Emergent record of scholarly publication
* Native English speaker preferred
