English Teachers Wanted in Japan

ENGLISH TEACHERS FOR TOCHIGI, SAITAMA and GUNMA AREAS – iUpcoming Term: April 2009

QUALIFICATION: The applicant must have a university degree, and a citizen of the US, Canada, Australia, the UK and New Zealand.

CONTRACT PERIOD: April 2009-March 2010. Applicant must be in Japan or be able to come to Japan before April 1st.

ALT?fs SALARY: An ALT will receive 230,000 yen/month. Payday is on the 10th of each month. From the salary, income tax will be deducted.

AUGUST, the summer break, is a FULL MONTH OFF. Teachers do not get any salary for this month. However, Fifth will pay for the AUGUST RENT. ALSO, the teachers WILL RECEIVE 80,000 YEN ALLOWANCE.

HOUSING: Fifth Wings will pay for the key money and deposit. The teacher will pay for the monthly apartment rent (around 50,000 yen or a bit above 50,000) and utilities.

WE PROVIDE FULL VISA SPONSORSHIP. Anyone who has a working holiday visa is more than welcome to apply.

ALT POSITIONS: (ALTs stay in their respective schools 8 hours a day with a maximum of 5 classes. Normally, the teacher has to teach in several schools.)

A. 2 ALTs (1 for Fujioka; one for Ohira) PREFERABLY, A COUPLE (Will live together in Fujioka; one stays in Fujioka, the other drives to Ohira (needs an INTERNATIONAL DRIVING LICENSE valid for at least one year)

APARTMENT RENT: Shared

FUJIOKA: Will go to 4 elementary schools on different days and to 1 junior high school.

OHIRA: Will go to 4 elementary schools on different days

B. ALT (for Iwafune; preferably MALE): Will teach in 1 Junior High School and 4 elementary schools on different days

C. ALT (for Tochigi; preferably MALE): Will go to 4 elementary schools on different days and to 1 Junior high school (half day).

MUST: The teacher must have an international driving license valid for at least one year.

D. ALTs (for Ashikaga: 1 elementary; 1 junior high; preferably a COUPLE)

ELEM ALT: Will go to 3-4 schools on different days

JUNIOR HIGH ALT: Will go to 1 junior high

OTHER POSITIONS

A. PRESCHOOL TEACHERS (for Ota; 3 positions; a COUPLE to fill in the 2 positions)

SALARY: 230, 000 yen/month. Three weeks OFF in AUGUST. The teachers will not get any salary in August. Fifth pays for the AUGUST RENT. Teachers have to report on the last week of August and will be paid 57,500 yen.

DUTIES: 90 teaching hours/month. The teachers will teach in the preschool from Tuesday-Friday 3:30-6:30; on Saturday for 6 hours. Other teaching hours (usually 2 hours 10:00-12:00) at Fifth?fs language school.

OFF: Sunday and Monday

B. FIFTH WINGS LANGUAGE SCHOOL (Fukaya, Saitama)

SALARY: 250, 000 yen (for 12 months; the teacher pays for the apartment rent for 12 months as well as the utilities)

DUTIES: 100 teaching hours/month. The teacher will teach mainly in the language school but will have to go to kindergartens and another Fifth language school (once a week). Age of students vary from preschoolers to adults.

MUST: The teacher must have an international driving license valid for at least one year.
