Assistant Language Teacher Positions – Starting Spring 2009! The land of the rising sun is a contrast between the old and the new. Become an ALT in a Japanese Public School! Be a cultural ambassador for your country while assisting a Japanese home room teacher to teach English. Responsibilities can include:· Co-teaching or leading conversational English classes that involve interactive teaching strategies· Preparing teaching materials and activities· Participating in school festivals, sports, and ceremonies· Assisting in the day-to-day tasks of the classroom Salary and Benefits Package:Salary starting from 177,000 yen/month – 260,000yen/month (depending on location and experience)Work visaPaid vacation/holidays in line with the Japanese Board of EducationSubsidized single occupancy Furnished accommodation Enrolment in Japanese National Health Insurance at a nominal monthly fee Requirements:Bachelor’s degree Native English speaker12 years of education in an English-speaking country prior to collegeValid passport from USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South AfricaOne year commitmentNo criminal record An interest in Japan and teaching Positions start in late March/early April – all applications must be received by December 15th.
