Teach English Palermo Italy

April 5th, 2008 | Italy

British Institutes Palermo seeks an EFL Teacher to begin on or before 15th April 2008.

Since 1994 our school has been offering quality English language courses and now has two branches in central Palermo.

We provide a dynamic working environment with many opportunities for professional development. British Institutes Palermo is a stable school with an experienced teaching team. Most of our teachers have been working here for more than one year, and several of us have been here more than five years. Your colleagues and DoS will be more than happy to provide you with the support you need.

We teach a variety of courses: ‘English is Fun!’ for children aged 5-7; courses for young learners, both on our school premises and in local state schools; General and Business English for adults; conversation classes; one-to-one lessons; and preparation for British Institutes and TOEFL examinations. We are an authorised TOEFL examination centre.

Teachers are given a set coursebook and a comprehensive syllabus based on the Common European Framework for each course they teach. They are encouraged to adapt and supplement the coursebook according to their students’ needs and their own teaching style. We have a substantial resource library of books, CDs, videos, DVDs and CD ROMs.

Our school has a fully equipped multimedia room with internet-enabled computers, a projector and screen, and a sound system. A classroom DVD player and video player are also available. Teachers are encouraged to integrate multimedia into their lessons.

Monthly salary: we guarantee 50 hours per month for a salary of 520 euros net. Extra hours are paid at 12.50 per hour net. All our full-time teachers are currently working 100+ hours per month.

British Institutes Palermo will pay your outward flight from the UK or Ireland, or pay a 100 euro contribution to travel costs from other countries. We will also pay for your first five nights in bed and breakfast accommodation and provide help with your search for a room or flat.

The successful applicant will be able to start as soon as possible, and able to commit to a contract that runs until the end of June.

Please send your CV and cover letter to Amanda Williams, Director of Studies, by email to a_williams@britishpa.it
