British Institutes in Giulianova, Abruzzo, Italy is looking for Mother-tongue English Teachers for the 2009-2010 Academic year.
British Institutes (www.britishinstitutes.it)is an Educational and Certification Board for English Language skills, with over 200 schools throughout Europe and two thousand mother tongue teachers. Accredited by the Italian Ministry of Public Education, its courses are in line with the provisions of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework. British Institutes has also developed its own teaching method called English Communicative Method. Accepting a position in our school would no doubt be of great advantage to anyone looking to build up a career in teaching English. It would help raise your profile and increase credibility as a mother-tongue English teacher.
Job Description and Requirements: We require teachers with CELTA/TEFL qualifications and/or a University Degree. Previous teaching experience as well as a basic knowledge of Italian is preferable although not essential.
We have a wide range of clients from companies and public schools to individual/group courses run in the school itself. These clients are of all age groups, and each course follows the British Institutes Syllabus based on levels outlined in the Common European Framework. Many courses are for Young Learners and so any teacher employed must be willing and, moreover, able to work well with children. In-house training and shadowing is provided for any new teacher. We can offer full/part-time contracts to both residents and non-residents. Our hourly rate starts at 11 Euros per hour, though travel expenses are added for any courses outwith the school. Non-residents coming from the UK, the USA or Europe do not pay any taxes and so receive 11 euros per hour net.
Location: Giuianova is a beach town with over 25,000 inhabitants. It is on the Adriatic coast, half an hour’s drive from the city of Pescara. There are good railway and motorway connections, the nearest airports are Pescara(40 minutes by car) and Ancona(1 hour 15minutes by car). It has a busy fishing port and is nearby the Gran Sasso National Park. The cost of living is reasonable, for example apartments can be found for around 350 euros per month, bills included.
