EF English First Batam are currently seeking qualified native speakers to join our staff on a one year renewable contract.

Indonesia is a vast archipelagic country rich in art, culture, religion and age-old traditions. It is one of the most stunningly beautiful, charming and culturally intriguing nations in the world. Batam itself is a gateway to the natural and cultural treasures that can be found throughout this amazing archipelago. Batam is only an hours boat ride from Singapore, two hours from Malaysia and an hour from world famous Bintan island; what some call the Phuket of Indonesia, Bintan island is great for an idyllic weekend retreat that is an excellent place to unwind and soak up the rays on beautiful white sand beaches. In Batam you will find a mix of cultures, traditions and people, it is quite modern and industrial in parts but if you look outside the centre you will find everything you would expect from Indonesia.

Our schools are equipped with fully integrated computer labs and in class PCU’s which are constantly updated with English First original course and supplementary materials.

We offer a wide range of courses including Young Learners, Pre-teens and Teens, General English, Business English, International Exams Preparation, Conversation Club and In-House Corporate Training.

All applicants must have a TEFL/CELTA/TESOL (minimum 40 hours) and relevant degree or TEFL/CELTA/TESOL (minimum 40 hours) and two years TEFL/TESOL teaching experience, be aged 25-55 (Immigration requirement) and hold a passport from the U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada or New Zealand (other passport holders will not be accepted)

Applicants should also have a working knowledge of or willingness to learn Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Power Point. We are looking for a hardworking, easy going, down to earth, creative and responsible team players.
