American Village in France 

 English Language Immersion Camp Who are we?

We are not a language school, but rather a linguistic immersion camp. As such, we emphasize education through cultural exchange.  American Village camps are for French children, ages 8 to 17 years old. These camps allow for children to become completely immersed in a foreign language within their home country by creating a positive environment where it is fun, natural and necessary to use English.  We have ten different sites throughout France. Our sites are located in small, quiet villages situated in the countryside, in the mountains or by the sea. We seek camp counselors who are native English speakers.  

Ideal candidates:

  • are from 19 to 30 years old
  • enjoy working and playing with children
  • have previous camp counseling experience

  • are comfortable living communally
  • are capable of communicating to non-native speakers 
  • are energetic (this does not necessarily mean athletic!) 

  • are creative (this dose not necessarily mean artistic!)
  • are dynamic and take initiative!

    •  A TEFL certification is NOT a requirement. Neither is knowledge of French. Counselors are hired for a maximum of three months, and our season extends from mid-March until the end of August. 

    Position Details:

    770 euros / month + room and board during the spring season (5 day camps from March – June)  

    880 euros / month + room and board during the summer season (14 day camps from July-August)

    Temporary work permit provided for N American citizens

    Accident Insurance while working

    NB: We are unable to offer financial assistance for plane or train tickets.
