Introduction
Shane English School China (SESC) offers you the opportunity to
experience the rapidly evolving and multifaceted culture of China
first hand, with the support and expertise of the largest British
owned EFL organization in Asia. SESC was established in Shanghai in
2000 and currently has 17 schools in China, teaching over 5000
students and employing hundreds of academic and non-academic staff.
Teachers at SESC teach a full range of student ages, with a high
percentage of Young Learners classes.
Salary and Teaching Hours
Our starting salary based on 72 monthly teaching hours is highly
competitive, ranging from 6600rmb per month to 7350rmb per month.
This means a new teacher will earn 95 to 102 rmb per class hour.
There are no unpaid, hidden teaching hours, required office hours, or
`English corners.
We offer 22 days of paid vacation each year.
Support
All teachers freely access a myriad of resources, including fully
developed in-house texts with accompanying CDs, toys and props in
modern classrooms with small student groups.
We provide initial and ongoing training for teachers and managers
Our Welfare Officers and Foreign Managers are always there to support
and assist you in everyday life
We also provide all of our teachers with health insurance.
Professional Development
Each teacher has regular opportunities for raises and promotions.
Shane is a global company, so teachers have the opportunity advance
their careers with the school almost anywhere in the world
Bonuses
Flight tickets are reimbursed to a decent sum and an end of contract
bonus makes it easy to get here, back, and have a good life while
you’re experiencing all China has to offer.
There are quarterly bonuses for normal monthly teaching hours over 72.
Re-signing teachers can expect a substantial raise and an increase in
bonuses and vacation time.
Living
We don’t impose annoying living conditions on our teachers such as
forced roommates, curfews, filthy or cramped apartments with pest
problems, isolated neighborhoods outside of the city center, etc. We
give teachers the freedom to choose their own apartments, with ample
guidance from our Welfare Officers.
Qualifications
We’re looking for energetic, positive, patient and creative
individuals who love working with children. We are only able to hire
Native English speakers with passports from Native English speaking
countries, possessing a college/university degree. We give teachers
with TEFL certification and teaching experience (especially in China)
priority, but welcome all applicants.
