Full Time at BLCU for 2008-2009

The English Education Center (not the English Department) at BLCU (Beijing Language and Culture University) has opened three new positions for full-time English teachers during the 2008-2009 school year.

The subjects that our Foreign Teachers are teaching now include not only Oral English, but also English Writing, Extensive Reading, Western Civilization, Newspaper Reading, and graduate level Comprehensive English classes.

Our students are not majoring in English, but many expect to use English daily in their future occupations. Most students are incredibly driven in their studies and many undergraduates hope to continue their education at the Master’s level and beyond.

The class sizes of most classes are 30-32 students per class. The expected workload per week is 14 hrs of classtime and 2 hrs of office hrs.

We offer the following to someone who has a bachelor degree with a certificate in TEFL or TESOL:

–A monthly salary of RMB 3,000 – 3,500 yuan;
–A two-room apartment on campus (furnished, air-conditioned, bathroom, phone, TV, kitchen, natural gas stovetop, microware oven, 24 hour hot water);
–Free medical care (cost for spectacles, false teeth and doctors’ home visit, etc. are not included);
–Single international flight ticket upon completion of the contract.

If an applicant has an MA TEFL/TESOL/TESL degree plus a few years teaching experience overseas, he/she will be offered return international flight fare and a salary of RMB 3,500-4,400 yuan. The terms for accommodation and medical care are the same as those for a person with a bachelor degree.
