IRC Afghanistan Education Program aims to enable communities to provide appropriate and quality education for their children through capacity building of teachers and support to community based schools. Specifically this program provides education opportunities for approximately 14,000 children in 150 villages in Logar, Gardez, Kabul and Nangahar provinces with a focus on the promotion of female education and female teacher training. IRC Education will begin in Heart for this time this year. Program activities include teacher training in subjects, teaching methodologies, and psychosocial approaches as well as material support to teachers, schools and students.

This is a full-time position with occasional travel required within the Provinces. The Master Teacher Trainer will train all Teacher Trainers in one province on all ongoing and new teacher training seminars. At times, the Master Teacher Trainer will go into the field to supervise and provide feedback to all Teacher Trainers as they are training teachers and other educators. The Master Teacher Trainer will work closely with Training Team Leader in implanting ongoing training systems in province, like demonstration lessons, feedback, mock sessions, etc. The Master Teacher Trainer will provide feedback to Training Team Leader on training system and new training seminars. Education staff will work with closely with communities regardless of ethnicity.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Specific Duties:
1.Implement system of ongoing professional teacher training, including demonstration lessons, feedback, mock sessions.
2. Travel to the field to observe Teacher Trainers and provide feedback.
3. Monitor, evaluate, and provide goals for improvement for all Teacher Trainers. Using impact tools for teaching and learning, measure implementation of activities and provide suggestions for improvement if needed.
4. Assist Training Team Leader in creating new teacher training seminars in accord with education strategy and under supervision of Education Technical Advisor and Education Coordinator.
5. Train Teacher Trainers in new teacher training seminars.
6. Provide feedback to Training Team Leader about training system and various aspects of new training seminars.
7. Provide schedule of activities and training plans to Education Manager.
8. Foster a positive and productive professional work environment.
Administrative Duties
1. Provide reports of ongoing training activities to Education Manager and Training Team Leader.
2. Coordination
3. Coordinate with Training Team Leader and other provincial Master Teacher Trainers.
4. Coordinate with Teacher Trainers on feedback from new training seminars and training systems.
Common Duties
1. Attend and participate in trainings identified/organized by your supervisor
2. Follow any new procedures and guidelines designated in circulars from Country Director
3. To report any violations of the IRC Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Code of Conduct. The reporting of violations is an obligation on the part of all staff members.
4. To assist where necessary in undertaking activities that aim to prevent the occurrence of sexual abuse and exploitation of beneficiaries by IRC and other humanitarian workers.
5. Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

8. University degree in Education.

9. Solid understanding of child development and child-centered learning.

10. Minimum 3-5 years experience.

11. Ability to travel to field offices.
